About Elim Preschool
Rooted in Northeast Minneapolis Since 1960
Elim Preschool has been part of the Northeast Minneapolis community for generations. In fact, some of today’s Elim families include parents who attended Elim Preschool themselves.
Through the years, our goal has remained simple: provide a high-quality, affordable preschool where children can learn, grow, build relationships, and prepare for kindergarten in a caring, faith-based community.
CURRICULUM
Three, four, and five-year-olds weren’t made to sit still all day.
Our play-based approach gives children room to explore their interests while teachers intentionally build opportunities for literacy, early math, creativity, problem-solving, motor development, and social-emotional growth into the day.
Plans are flexible enough to follow children’s questions, interests, the weather, the world around us, and those unexpected moments that often lead to the best learning.
Kindergarten readiness
Our goal isn’t simply to prepare children academically for kindergarten. We want them to walk into their next classroom ready to participate, make friends, ask questions, try new things, and keep learning.
At Elim, children work on:

Every family’s schedule is different. Elim offers both half-day and full-day preschool options, with schedules available from two to five days per week.
Room to Move, Explore & Play
Children have opportunities for active play and outdoor time, including time at nearby Logan Park. These experiences give kids room to move, explore nature, develop motor skills, and simply enjoy being kids.
Teachers Who Know Your Child
Our teachers take time to know each child’s personality, interests, strengths, and needs. They create classrooms where children can feel comfortable trying something new, asking for help, making mistakes, and celebrating what they’ve learned.
